Snake: Colonel, it looks like I'll be hung up for a bit more.
Colonel: I see. Then head for the Temple of Time first. You may find something very important there.
Snake: Very important?
Campbell: Since this is about another Sage, it will no doubt be an asset before you take on Ganondorf.
Snake: Do you know anything about this final sage?
Campbell: Our reports show nothing about a seventh sage.
Snake: Colonel, you're not hiding anything from me, are you?
Campbell: Snake, anything that I hid from you back on Shadow Moses was top secret information from the higher-ups. I'm free to disclose information to you on this mission, and right now, there is nothing in our documents about the seventh sage.
Snake: ........
Campbell: It'd be better if you just took a trip to the Temple itself, Snake.
That said, Snake played the Prelude of Light and returned. There, he heard a familiar voice. "I've been waiting for you, Solid Snake, the Hero of Time." It was Sheik, and this time, she definitely had something she needed to share...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Solid Snake, the hero. You have endured many hardships and awakened six sages. The time has come that you will do battle with the King of Evil, Ganondorf. But before you do, listen well. Another unknown legend of the Triforce has been passed down by the shadow folk, the Sheikah." Sheik would go on to explain the Triforce legend.
"If you would seek the Triforce, know this. The golden triangle's resting place, the Sacred Realm, is a mirror that reflects what is in one's heart. If an evil heart enters it, the Sacred Realm becomes a realm of catastrophe. If one with a good heart enters it, the realm becomes a paradise. The Triforce balances three forces: Power, Wisdom, and Courage. If the person who holds these three forces in balance gains the golden triangle, that one will gain the true force to rule them all. If not, then the Triforce will separate into three parts, representing those forces. Thus, only one part will remain for that person who touched the Triforce...the part that one most believed in. If that one seeks the True Force, that one must acquire the two lost parts. Those two parts will be held within others chosen by destiny, who will bear the Triforce mark on the backs of their hands."
"Seven years ago, Ganondorf used you to enter the realm." "Used me to enter the realm?" asked Snake. "Yes. And when he touched the triangle, the legend became true. The Triforce separated into three parts, and Ganondorf got the Triforce of Power." "Only the Triforce of Power?" "Indeed. It enabled him to become a mighty king, but as if that were not enough, he sought the remaining two pieces. The one who holds the Triforce of Courage is...You, Solid Snake." "I hold the Triforce of Courage?!" Snake was surprised, but he looked at the back of his hand and noticed a glowing triangle. "This...this is the Triforce of Courage?" "It is. And the other, who holds the Triforce of Wisdom, is the seventh sage, destined to be the leader of them all." Suddenly, a blinding light surrounded Zelda, and when it passed, Sheik was gone, but instead replaced by a beautiful princess. "P-Princess...Zelda!" Snake was again shocked by the appearance of the missing princess of Hyrule, but indeed, she has grown into a woman.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Please forgive me for meeting you in disguise," said Zelda, "but it was necessary to escape from Ganondorf. On that day, seven years ago, Ganondorf attacked Hyrule. I saw you while escaping on my horse with Impa, my attendant. I was hoping that, as long as I entrusted the Ocarina with you, it would be our best chance. I believed that Ganondorf would never enter the Sacred Realm. But...something I never expected happened. When you opened the Door of Time, you obtained the Master Sword, but...it sealed you away for seven years. This allowed Ganondorf to enter the Sacred Realm and gain the power that he needed. I passed myself off as a Sheikah and waited for seven long years, hoping that you would return. But now that you're back, the dark age of Ganondorf shall come to an end. The six sages will open the door to the sacred realm and lure him in. And I will seal the door away and Ganondorf shall vanish from Hyrule. Snake, I call upon your courage to do this. Please protect me while I do this. Here...this is a weapon that can penetrate the evil king's defenses. This is a Light Arrow." "A Light Arrow?" responded Snake. "Yes. This Light Arrow is yours to use." Zelda gave Snake the Light Arrows.
Suddenly, the Temple of Time began to rumble. "No, it can't be!" Zelda's worst fear would be that Ganondorf would attack. This came true, as Zelda was suddenly trapped in a magic, impenetrable crystal. "Ganondorf!" Snake called out to him. "Zelda...you fool. I commend you for making it this far, escaping my pursuit for seven long years. But you let your guard down, as I knew you'd appear if I let this man wander around. I've underestimated him...or should I say I've underestimated the power of the Triforce that he holds. Once I obtain these two pieces of the Triforce...then I shall rule the world!" Snake tried to break Zelda out, but to no avail. The crystal, holding the princess, was lifted upwards and disappeared. "If you want to see Zelda, come to my castle!! AH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!! HAAAA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!"
"Damn! Now he has Zelda!"

Snake: Colonel, Ganondorf has just kidnapped Zelda!
Campbell: Snake, this is unfortunate. You're going to have to infiltrate Ganondorf's castle and enter it.
Otacon: Snake, be careful. They're luring you into a trap, and I think you'll have a lot more to worry about when you get in there.
Snake made a run from the Temple of Time to what used to be Hyrule Castle. Now, it was replaced with darkness. Truly a sorrowful sight, but Snake had to quickly adjust to this view and enter the grounds of the castle. Suddenly, Rauru's voice was heard. "Snake, we, the six sages, are going to open a way for you. You must rescue Zelda!" Suddenly, colorful lights appeared and a bridge was formed that created a path to enter into Ganondorf's castle. Snake has now entered the castle.
Meanwhile...in the castle, Ganondorf was at the top. "Do you have the girl?" A gruff voice was heard. It was Ocelot's. "Yes, she's here. Soon, this world will feel the might of Ganondorf." "Bravo, Ganondorf. But...what is your purpose with the world once you conquer it. Do you intend to create weapons of mass destruction and become the sole dictator of the world? Or do you plan on turning Hyrule into a fine economy for people such as yourself to live in?" "What are you talking about?", asked Ganondorf. "I'm the king. I'll do whatever I want." "Injecting fear into the people's hearts is a fine way to rule, my friend. But the plan must be complete. The Triforce is necessary. But soon..." "Soon?" "It will be ours." Suddenly, Ocelot was overcome with pain. "Argh! Not this again!" "That arm bothering you again?" asked Ganondorf. "He's...he's coming, alright." Ocelot retained his composure. The battle for the fate of Hyrule is nearing its time.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Snake entered the central area of Ganon's Castle. It was a creepy, dark environment with little lighting, save for the rays of energy that trasmitted a barrier to the center. That center doorway would lead to Ganondorf, no doubt. The six barriers' power came from their rooms which held the elements respective of the Six Sages. Snake entered the forest first. A quick battle with Skulltulas led him to the first, where he would fire a Light Arrow into the barrier's core. Saria appeared. "The Forest Barrier is dispelled. Hurry Snake!" With that, she transported him back to the center. Snake had five of these mini-dungeons left. He would enter Fire, but his trip was cut short when he could not proceed. Gigantic blocks kept Snake from going any further. He would have to find an item that would allow him to move these, as not even his Silver Gauntlets would get the job done. Snake entered the water barrier. A block puzzle was an easy task. Ruto appeared. "The Water Barrier is gone. Go, Snake!" She would transport him back to the main hub. Snake tried the Shadow Barrier next. In an invisible path, Snake solved the puzzle; he found the Golden Gauntlets on a lonely platform. Snake progressed out and met Impa. "The Shadow Barrier has disappeared. Please save the Princess!" Snake went back and now went into the Fire dungeon. Snake used his incredible new strength to lift these massive blocks and toss them far away. With that, Snake would cross the lava and meet Darunia. "The Fire Barrier has disappeared. Hurry, brother!" He transports Snake back and Snake went into the Spirit Barrier. Inside was a switch puzzle with Bombchus and a Mirror Shield puzzle. Snake quickly completed this task, although a Wallmaster from a false sun switch nearly impeded his progress, but it was quickly sliced into six....one for each finger, the thumb, and the palm. "You must hate those things, Snake." Navi commented. Snake met Nabooru. "The Spirit Barrier is dispelled. You can do it, Snake!" Nabooru teleported Snake and now, one was left. Snake entered the Light Barrier. Snake removed the statue and got the key while dispatching his enemies. He met Rauru. "The Light Barrier is gone. Hero of Time, we're counting on your effort to defeat Ganondorf. Now go." Rauru transports Snake to the center. The barrier suddenly disappeared and Snake was free to enter.
Once inside the tower, Snake was ambushed by Fire Keese. He managed to evade them and entered the room. Inside he would battle Dinolfos and enter the next door. As he progressed, Snake could hear organ music playing a creepy tone. Snake climbed the stairs and entered the door. Stalfos were guarding the boss key. Snake took them out and grabbed the key, then moved up. The next room was a dark room with pillars. It was here that Snake could hear the music clearly. "He's up there! Let's go, Navi." "Right, Snake!" Snake climbed the last flight of stairs and finally...entered the last door. Inside was Ganondorf, playing an organ, and Princess Zelda, trapped inside of her crystal.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Snake's, Zelda's, and Ganondorf's Trifoce pieces on the hands began to glow. As this happened, Ganondorf stopped playing the organ. "The Triforce is resonating. They are becoming one again. On that day, seven years ago, I failed to acquire them. I never would have guessed the two of you would hold them. But now, the Triforce is here." "What do you want from the Triforce?" Snake asked in a gruff, angry voice. "Power. The power to control Hyrule. These people enjoy far too much. My land is a wasteland, a desert. My people are suffering from disease, famine. The Hylians get luxury. The wind that blows in my home brings death, while theirs brings them prosperity. I intend to change that myself and the Triforce will grant me that wish! Domination of all of Hyrule!" Ganondorf got up and turned around, pushing back his red cape. "These toys are too much for you! I command you to return them to me!" Ganondorf made a fist and began to fire dark waves. "AAARRRGGGHHH!!!" These paralyzed Snake briefly while Navi couldn't fight at all. "I can't help you Snake. The waves of darkness are too powerful. I'm sorry, Snake." Snake drew the Master Sword, ready to battle. The fight for the fate of Hyrule was about to begin...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ganondorf levitated himself atop his platform. The Evil King was now ready to finish this score. He suddenly dropped down and drove his fist into the ground, causing an immense quake. Snake backflipped away from the attack, as this quake caused the nearby platforms to fall. There was now a gap the size of one block, the blocks that Snake was standing on, in between him and Ganondorf. The warlock charged up a mighty blast and fired it at Snake. He dodged the attack and watched it hit a block, which caused a platform to fall. Snake attempted to fire a Light Arrow at him, but it did no good, as Ganondorf merely blocked the attack with his cape. "His power has grown since the last time I saw him...wait...last time..." As Snake thought about the last time he met Ganondorf, aside from the Temple of Time, he quickly recalled his battle with Phantom Ganon in the Forest Temple. "Could the same apply here?" Snake knew that Ganondorf would make the same mistake as his puppet would if he continued the attack. "Fool! Never let your guard down!" Ganondorf taunted Snake and launched another ball of magic at him. "Well, if this fails, the world's screwed." Snake struck the blast and knocked it back at the Gerudo King. "I will not go down like my puppet, imbecile!" He knocked it back at Snake, who knocked it back. The two were in a brief struggle until Snake decided to unleash a Spin Attack to double the blast's speed. The blast hit him before he could counter it and he was stunned. Snake launched the Light Arrow into his chest and Ganondorf became incapacitated. Snake knew that this was his chance. He went in and delivered a decisive blow to the evil king with the Master Sword, striking him down with a furious combo before a final stab in the chest. He went down with a fierce cry of pain.
Ganondorf began breathing heavily and looked at Snake, seething. "The great evil king Ganondorf...beaten by...a snake?" As he realized his defeat, he vomited and blood spurted from his mouth. "I...never...I will not go down like this! AAARGGHHH!!!" Ganondorf let out a fierce yell and power began to erupt from him. In that moment, the entire top of his tower was completely crumbled. He fell to the ground, believed to be dead. Zelda descended from her crystal prison and was freed. "Princess Zelda. Are you alright?" "Yes", responded Zelda. She turned to look at her captor, the king of the Gerudo tribe who once served the King of Hyrule in an attempt to gain the Triforce. "Ganondorf...pitiful man. He could not control the power of the gods, and..." Suddenly, as she said that, a loud boom was heard, and the castle under their feet began to shake. Snake got a codec call.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Campbell: Snake, the castle is crumbling! You need to get out of there posthaste!
Snake: How long till it's demolished completely?
Campbell: We're not sure how long, but we estimate that you have approximately five minutes, give or take a few. But you have no time to waste!
"Let's go, Princess." Snake escorted Zelda down the castle. "Watch out falling rocks!" The debris that came from the castle exploding would be falling down on them. Snake reached a gated door. "This wasn't locked before." "Let me open it using my power." Zelda stood in front of the door and opened it. The two made a quick escape through the castle, which was now began destroyed as debris would fall toward them and flames burned through the castle. At one point, they made it into a room, where Zelda was suddenly trapped by a magic seal. "Zelda!" Snake knew this was the doing of someone or something nearby. Two Stalfos came up from the ground. "I don't have time for this crap!" Snake grabbed one Stalfos' arm, ran it behind the creature and impaled it through the back, and then used it to impale the other Stalfos that had just landed from a jump attack. Zelda was freed and the two escaped. "Hurry, Snake. Just a bit further!" A Redead appeared near the end. Snake to hit it with a pre-emptive attack shortly before the creature could make its hideous scream. The two saw the castle's exit and made it through safe and sound.
Outside, the two ran to the clearing and turned around to see the castle of the evil warlock now crumbling. Within a matter of a few short minutes, the castle had succeeded in burning down and its remains now lay upon the ground. "It's over...it's finally over." Zelda was calm now that her deed was over. "Snake, I'm sorry I couldn't help you in the battle earlier." Navi was apologetic. "Don't worry kid. It's over and we won. Besides, although you didn't help me in the battle directly, you've helped me prepare for the battle. Without you, I don't think I'd have made it as far in this world." "Tee hee! Thanks, Snake." Navi was pleased that Snake recognized her talent.

Snake: Colonel, the mission is over.
Campbell: Excellent work, Snake. I'll prepare an escape chopper for you.
Otacon: Snake, that's fantastic! I've glad to hear this. When you get back, I gotta hear your story!
Snake: I'll be glad to get out of here. I'll take Genome Soldiers and rebels over fire-breathing dragons and shadow ghosts any day.
Otacon: That's funny, because if you and I switched places, I'd gladly take fantasy over Metal Gears anyday.
Snake: When you put it that way, you and I are more alike than you think.
Colonel: Snake, the chopper is on its way. It might take a little while to get there, though, so just spend some time with your new friends before leaving them so soon.
As Snake got off his Codec, he suddenly heard a loud noise. "From the castle?!" Zelda was startled and turned to the remains. Suddenly, from the crumbled debris, an enraged Ganondorf arose, floating in the air. His eyes were full of evil, their pupils missing, his attention turned directly to Snake. He made a fist and the Triforce on his hand glowed. The warlock made a loud roar as light engulfed him. As he did this, his physical stature grew to double its size, becoming much bulkier. His appearance also changed drastically, no longer looking like a warlock, but as a huge, giant blue demon pig.
Ganon has awakened.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ganon was in a rage. He roared loudly and swung the two giant blades he produced wildly. Snake blocked one of these attacks with his Master Sword, but as he did that, the Master Sword flew out of his hands. Ganon was truly more powerful than ever before. The Master Sword landed near the feet of Zelda, who looked on in worry. As Snake's Master Sword had flown out of his hands, he went to grab the blade. But when he did, flames surrounded Snake and Ganon. Nobody would stand in their way and Snake would not have access to his weapon. "Why...why is this happening? We thought we brought peace to Hyrule, but now we must know for sure. This is the final battle." Zelda looked on in worry, but with a look of confidence as well, that she would not lose as long as Snake was there. She believed that he was the Hero of Time and the last hope of Hyrule. If he lost, it would be over. He could not lose.
Snake's reason was to fulfill his mission. As he had been in service for so long, he has always had one goal in mind; finish the mission, no matter the circumstance. Whether it was Outer Heaven, whether it was Zanzibar Land, whether it was Shadow Moses, or whether it was Big Shell, Snake would never let anything stand in his way to finishing his task. Hyrule was no exception. Although this isn't a world he lives in, the power that lies in this world is so great that it could just as easily affect his own if put into the wrong hands with an absurd enough idea. This means that losing his Master Sword meant no difference to him.
It doesn't matter if the blade is knocked away. Snake had one weapon that he has relied on this entire time. It wasn't the Master Sword, the blade that was meant for the Hero of Time; it was the hero himself, Solid Snake. "Go ahead. Take it away." Snake was confident and drew the Megaton Hammer. "I have more from where that came from." As a resourceful man as he was, he's been forced to fight with his bare hands at several points of his career. He would not allow the Master Sword to be the key to his life. Snake charged at Ganon, and as he swung his swords, Snake dodged Ganon's attack and noticed his tail was less armored than the rest of his body. Ganon stuck at Snake again, but this time, he rolled under his legs and smashed the tail under his hammer. Ganon cried out in pain and Snake knew that this was his weakness. Ganon turned around to strike, but Snake threw a Deku Nut, briefly stunning Ganon while making his attack. While he truly became more powerful, Ganon's new strength came at a cost of speed. He could no longer defend his weak points well and would have to rely on offense. He struck at Snake one more time, but Snake again evaded and stuck Ganon down. This time, he was actually weakened to the point that the flames had been extinguished. "Now's your chance, Snake!" Navi called out to Snake and signaled for him to get the Master Sword. Navi was courageous and spoke loudly. "I won't let him hold me back again. This time we fight together!" Snake nodded and ran to his Master Sword. "Good luck, Snake." Zelda was standing there cheering him on. Snake ran back to the battlefield and confronted Ganon.
With the Master Sword, all hope was lost for the creature. Snake shot a Light Arrow at Ganon's head, and it blinded him. Snake stuck the tail with the Master Sword and Ganon went down. Zelda called out to Snake. "This is it! Unleash the final blow on him! NOW!" Snake ran to Ganon's head. "This is it, Ganon. It's over!" Snake drew the blade. Just as he did that, a gunshot was suddenly heard and Snake was startled and ceased his attack...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Your time has run out, Hero." A gruff voice was heard. Snake looked over. "Ocelot!" "You believe it's fun to play hero, beat the bad guy, save the girl...the same sort of cliche that you've proven able to do. But you think you did this little charade alone? Let me explain something. Your quest has been a farce. Nothing more." "What?!" Zelda was shocked and confused. "Look at this pathetic swine." Ocelot moved over to Ganon, who was badly wounded. "He can't stand. He has no power. You know why? The Triforce. It was supposed to grant him power. You had the Courage and the young girl had the Wisdom."
Ganon began to revert to his human form once more. "Ah, I see my subordinate is coming around." Ganondorf got up on one knee. "Ocelot! What the hell is the meaning of this?!" "You have no power, my friend", he responded. "If you want your precious "Triforce", why not look elsewhere? Because I guarantee you don't have it, and without it, you don't rule Hyrule." "Insolent fool!" Ganondorf was angry. He charged a ball of energy at Ganondorf, but Ocelot drew his Colt Single Action Army and, in one shot, blasted a bullet into Ganondorf's hand and took him down. "AARRGGHHH!!!" Ganondorf cried out in pain, holding the back of his hand, which held the Triforce of Power. "It's a shame you don't understand the truth. You didn't get this far by yourself, either. You don't even see where the power came from when it stares you in your face." Ganondorf looked up at Ocelot. "This is a pretty little triangle." Ocelot took out a golden triangle. "THE...THE TRIFORCE!!!!" Ganondorf was surprised. "Ocelot, what the hell is the meaning of this?!" Snake couldn't believe what was happening. "No...is the legend...a lie?" Zelda was in dismay.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"No. It's not a lie. We just happened to end this little legend's tale before it could begin again." "We...who?" asked Zelda. "The Patriots." he explained. "The La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo?" Ganondorf responded. "Ah, the simple folk of Hyrule understand nothing of the world outside of them. It's like a gerbil in a cage. You don't know of us and you're probably better off that way. Either way, we've got this place under our control. It doesn't take an army to wipe out the simple folk. It only takes a piece of power. Sound familiar, Ganon?" Ocelot shined the Triforce of Power." "You...bastard..." Ganondorf was injured and tried to fight. He got up and attacked Ocelot. "You are a stubborn king to the end." Ocelot shot him in the chest. Ganondorf went down and spit blood. "The...world...of Hyrule...belongs...to me..." Ganondorf fell, dead. "Your role in the act is now over. Now for the slithering, struggling snake and his damsel in distress. You don't need to tell me how you got your hands on such pretty treasure. I got one a while back. It wasn't hard entering the Temple of Time." "But...how?" asked Zelda. "How did you enter without the Ocarina of Time? It's...impossible!" "Your primitive technology is no match for the works of the world's modern era. The Door of Time that Snake entered was nothing more than a replica. The real one was destroyed. I waited for the right moment in the Sacred Realm. Ganondorf was late. I HANDED him the Triforce of Power's replica shortly after I gained the real one myself."
"Why do you need the Triforce, Ocelot?" Snake asked. "Everything. What's wrong with this world? Why do the Patriots exist? Censorship...stock market...terrorism...anything. This Triforce shall give new rise to the world." "Rise to the world?" "As I use its power to build this world back from the ashes that it sunk itself in, we will establish an order. It's not the money or anything like that. It's everything in itself." "Everything in itself?" "This world has holes all over the place. The Triforce will make it the world the way it was intended to be made."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Now, I'll be taking these pieces." Snake drew the Master Sword, but Ocelot shot it out of his hand. "You're hopeless, my friend. Release the Triforce." Ocelot shot his leg and Snake yelled in pain. "Good." Ocelot held his arm up and took the Triforce. "No...dammit..." "One more." Ocelot looked to Zelda. "I would sooner die than hand the Triforce over to you, you coward!" "Is that right, little lady? Well I can arrange that." As Ocelot drew his arm forward, gun in hand, his arm gave in and the revolver dropped from his hand. "NO! NOT...NOW...PLEASE...NOT THIS TIME..." Ocelot held his arm in pain. "What's up with him?" asked Navi. As she was examining him, Zelda took this opportunity to heal Snake's leg with her magic. Afterward, Snake rolled forth and grabbed the six-shooter that fell from Ocelot's hand. "About time I got my hand on one of these!" Zelda looked at Ocelot. "What's wrong with that man?" asked Zelda. "He won't be "that man" for long." "What do you mean?" asked Zelda. "I've seen this sort of action from him before. His arm...that's where he is at." "He? Who do you mean?" "Zelda, it's a long story, but the man I'm talking about is none other than my..."
"BROTHER!" Suddenly, an outcry of a different voice emerged from Ocelot's mouth. He was an entirely different person. The man who lived in Ocelot's arm, surviving the accident on Shadow Moses Island, Liquid Snake, Solid Snake's twin brother, has emerged forth. "It's been a long time, brother. What's it been? Seven years here, 40 years for you? You look awful!" "Liquid! What the hell do you need?" "This Triforce is a wonderful tool that Ocelot fetched for me. I'm proud to have a host like him to help me reform the world. Thanks to him, I don't have to go through the trouble." The two pieces of Triforce began to glow and Liquid held it. "Yes...one more piece. Zelda, give me your piece!" "Forget it!" Zelda was angry. "Very well." Liquid used the power of his Triforces to extract the Triforce of Wisdom. "The Waves of Darkness that Ganondorf used do well to keep you from doing anything at all! This power is wonderful!" Zelda could do nothing as the Triforce left her. "I NOW HAVE THE ENTIRE TRIFORCE. THIS WORLD IS MINE."
"Liquid, I would stop right there!" Snake fired a shot at his head, but it was deflected. "Is that it, brother? We have a happy family reunion, and you don't change a bit. Well, I think it's time that we've had a little brotherly chat!" Liquid walked over to Snake and slapped him twice. "You're no longer the superior one, brother. Observe the power that you could only dream to have."
"Triforce!" Liquid yelled at the top of his lungs. "Make this world of Hyrule a battleground! Make it a place where soldiers can come together and live like they can. Turn this place into a ground for war!" Suddenly, there was noise. Loud noises were heard as monsters came forth from the mountains. "Are they headed for the field?" Zelda asked. "Yeah." said Snake. Liquid was not done yet. "Now! Revive the fallen Hylian soldiers. Give them a reason to live!" "LIQUID! You've gone too far. TOO FAR!" Snake could not believe what Liquid Snake was doing, but sure enough, Stalfos in Hylian Knight clothing began moving forth. They, too, invaded Hyrule Field. "This place shall be our ground...our field...our new...OUTER HEAVEN. The winner of this war shall be my army as we take back the world and give our kind a right to live." Liquid was insane with this new power. It was something he wished to establish; to fulfill the dream of Big Boss. Zelda was crying and Snake could not believe what his brother had become.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Zelda, tell me something." Snake asked her. "Is there anything else about the Triforce that I need to know?" Zelda wiped her tears away. "Well, I don't know if it will work, but the Triforce is omnipotent. It can grant any wish." "What happens if it can't grant that wish?" asked Snake. "Can't? What do you mean?" asked Zelda. "It's a hunch, but I think I can do this." "If the Triforce can't grant the wish, it would shatter and if the holder is using the Triforce, whatever their wish is will be gone." "What can I do that would reverse the wish?" Snake went to thinking, but it would be tough to imagine.
Snake walked to Liquid. "Liquid!" Snake called out to his brother. "Brother! Do you dare challenge the general of the world?! Take a look at everything around you. This is what father would have wanted! Soldiers have a place in this world!" Snake looked around and saw soldiers, living and dead, in an endless battle. "Do you think he'd want this hell to spread to everyone around?" "Big Boss wanted a world for soldiers! Without war, there would be no soldiers. No place for people like us. We have nothing to give to the future. Look at you, look at me, and look at our dead brother, Solidus. We're the only ones in a new generation of fighters. But with this power, I can become the greatest soldier in the world!" Liquid pushed Snake away with a blast of wind. He was mad with power, but Snake would not give up. "The greatest soldier?" Snake asked. "Why don't you believe you're the best now? Is it because you're genetically the inferior?" "My genetic structure matters little now!" "It also mattered little when I kicked your ass at Shadow Moses island." Snake said. "Grrr...no. If you think you can tell me that I'm still inferior to you after this, even after knowing the truth, then you're clearly mistaken. TRIFORCE!" Liquid yelled his next wish. "Make me the genetically superior brother!" However, as Liquid yelled this wish, a golden light appeared through the Triforce. It flew into the sky and shattered into 24 pieces, 8 for each major piece. "What is this?!" Liquid couldn't believe his dream being shattered. In that instant, the dead soldiers retreated back into the ground. The land was clear of Stalfos and living soldiers alike.
Liquid was genetically superior already. Having been a part of Ocelot's arm, dormant, he could hear every word made by the Patriot. He knew he was stronger than Snake. However, he also knew that Solidus was the strongest of the three brothers. Therefore, Liquid would be the "middle child" of the sons of Big Boss. However, Solidus was killed by Raiden on the roof of Federal Hall following the Big Shell incident, and therefore, Liquid was now the strongest. However, he did not take this into consideration as he was mad with power. He could only think of making himself and his army stronger, thus he used a wish that contradicted the Triforce and reality and shattered it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"My dream! This...this can't be. I am the best! NOOOO!!!!" "Liquid, it's over." Snake said to him. "Hmhmhm..." Liquid began making a quiet laugh. "My mission for Outer Heaven in Hyrule may have been a failure at one part..." Liquid turned around,Single Action Army in hand. "But I can always build a new army with that princess!"
Liquid fired a shot at Snake, who dodged the shot and fell over. "One shot left in this. I'll make this one count. For Big Boss' true son!" Snake had his SAA in hand ready to fire. He had two shots left. "You're not making this easy for yourself. You don't have what it takes to kill me." Snake shot at Liquid, but at that moment, Liquid also shot at Snake. The two hit each other's weapons and they flew out of their hands. One shot was left in one of the weapons, and the other was empty. However, that wouldn't stop the two from fighting. But would Snake fight or dive for a weapon?
Zelda telepathically communicated with Snake. "I know which one has the bullet. It's the one closest to you, of this I assure you." Snake grabbed the SAA closest to him while Liquid grabbed the weapon closest to him. "Now, brother. It's time to seal your fate while I resurrect this world!" Liquid pulled the trigger, but got nothing. "This...no!" Snake fired at his brother's chest. The bullet went through and hit him as he tried to dodge. "How...HOW CAN THIS BE?!?!" Liquid was in shock and spurt blood. "I am the...superior...brother..." With that, he fell to the ground. Snake looked over at his fallen brother. "I pity you. You fought hard for what you believed in, but you can't hope to conquer another world with such little knowledge of it. Your mistake was made when only one resident knew the true power that you held and knew the fatal mistake you would make when it came down to a duel. You're a mess, Liquid." Zelda looked over to Snake. "I can't believe...he's your own brother. Why do you have to fight so ruthlessly?"
Silence fell. No more weapons, no more fights, no more destruction. Liquid was defeated at the hands of his brother once more. Could Snake call his mission a success? Or would their be a trap waiting for him by the Patriots sometime in the future? "Snake?" Zelda called out to him hoping for an answer.
"Listen. We're soldiers. On the battlefield, we have our own reasons for going out there and doing what we do. When we're fighting for life and death, we're not here to spurt BS on the frontlines. I have a mission to complete. That is my reason. Liquid has a mission to complete. In that sense, we're hardly any different. However, Liquid tried to revive Outer Heaven for the sake of people like him and myself. Does stopping him make me wrong? Does it contradict what I fight for? It doesn't. Liquid sees that the governments of the world are corrupt, he knows that his is an existence that will never be able to live like a normal person, and for that, he wants to make the world his own for a place of war, with him as the top of the food chain. For that to happen, everyone would kill each other until eventually we completely annihilated mankind. There's no telling how many Genome Soldiers, nukes, or Metal Gears would come out of a settlement of him being the dominant power of the world. For my line of work, war or not, it's to stop it from turning this world into a hellhole."
"I see," responded Zelda. "But...you did your mission, right? Hyrule's peace is restored, and it's all thanks to you, Solid Snake." Zelda was able to smile once more. "Gee, Snake, you were amazing!" Navi was happy that her leader had won the day.

Snake: Colonel, this is Snake. Liquid is dead.
Campbell: Snake, that's great news.
Otacon: Snake, that's incredible! Great job!
Snake: The Triforce has been shattered into pieces. I don't think you can hire enough miners to find the thing before my time is up.
Campbell: Ha, I hear you Snake. A chopper is on its way to pick you up.
Snake: I look forward to getting back to reality.
Zelda looked over to Snake. "Snake, I remember when you were still younger than you are, now. If you want...I can return you back to your original time. You can live the seven years that you lost." Snake thought about this for a while. If he went back in time, where would he be? Zelda would be escaping from Ganondorf, and the mission would still be underway. Snake would have knowledge of Ocelot's schemes and attempt to make another strategy, but if it didn't work, he'd be in a bad situation. "I think it may be best this way. I'm living in the present, not the past, and it's time to live for the future." "Well, okay Snake." "Look, kid. I think it's great for you to look out for a tired, war fossil like me, but I'm gonna be screwed with this aging either way you look at it." "Okay."
Within an hour, a chopper appeared. "Well, Princess. It was great." He waved as he climbed aboard, and Zelda waved back. Navi flew around as a signal to wave. The chopper closed up and flew away. As it flew through Hyrule Field, Snake looked out and dawned on his last adventure. It was truly a different experience being placed in a fantasy setting. However, the odds he overcame were more or less the same, with the stakes higher than ever imagined. Once thought ridiculous, encountering Liquid Ocelot proved that this adventure was every bit as serious as his last. Outer Heaven, Zanzibar Land, Shadow Moses, Big Shell...and now the land of Hyrule. As the chopper flew by, residents of Hyrule would get up and wave, as if they already knew the hero's tale. Perhaps it was the gods communicating to them that allowed them to give one final farewell to their great hero, the Hero of Time. Solid Snake has saved the world once more and shall be a hero known across the land.

???: Did he come back already? ...Yes, I see. Were the shards ever recovered? ...The time it will take to find them would be at least 100 years? ...Hm. No, sir, Ganon is dead. He was offed the minuted he knew the Triforce wasn't his. ...No, but it's hard to explain. The brother who was formerly the strongest was dead, while the middle child believed he wasn't the strongest. He was being too rash and made a wish to contradict the Triforce itself. ...Okay, I understand sir. I will abandon Hyrule at once. While this mission was a failure, there's no need to worry. We recovered the data we needed. ...Yes, sir. I'll be arriving shortly. Just as soon as my chest wounds heal. The bullet missed the vital organs, so it won't be long before we can start the next operation.
Yes, sir. We'll begin deploying Metal Gears as soon as I return. Goodbye.
